We are very happy to finally announce the opening of our new workshop.

Historically, artists and architects have been closely involved in the making of their pieces and projects and Areti sees itself in this tradition of designing as well as creating the material work. 

We were contacted by interior designer Pia Clodi and her client Katharina Richter-Wallmann around the middle stages of their design collaboration for the family owned Salzburg Hotel ‘Zum Hirschen’.

We will present our latest work Reflection and pieces from the Elements collection at the Alcova installation during Milan Design Week 2023.

Atelier Areti will be showing a number of pieces from the Elements Collection during Milan Design Week. Join us in Brera, where we are participating in an installation curated by H+O.

Some stress and uncertainty preceded the installation and opening of ‘I’ll be your mirror’. Originally planned in 2020, the team at H+O (design collaboration between Josephine Hoffmeyer and Elisa Ossino) decided to take a leap of faith and present it, with some changes, in September 2021.

Atelier Areti will participate in the upcoming interior design project ‘I’ll be your mirror’ by H+O during Milan Design Week this September. The designs span the entire period of Atelier Areti - from early 2009 works to the recently launched Elements series.

The sculptural part of the design is based on two perfect geometric shapes: a round flat disc and a smaller sphere.

 The purity of the composition, combined with the richness and contrast of the two materials - warm reflective gold + matt radiating white - made for a piece that works well in different contexts.  It adds richness to a simple interior, and calmness to a busy one.

This body of work was created over a number of years and as a result, a vaster palette of sculptural, graphic and conceptual themes have been explored through light and furniture objects.

On 29 June 2018, hotel Norge reopened after a full refurbishment in Bergen, Norway.

The architects have gathered inspiration from the nature surrounding the city. Therefore, the interiors reflect high quality, modern, Nordic design with many distinctive details.

Our friend Nikos Tsepetis’ Ammos Hotel is an exceptional place in Chania, Crete.

Ammos Hotel carries Nikos’ generous character and love for detail and genuine moments in every surprising and charming corner. This place reconciles typical Cretan whitewashed stonewalls, bizarrely shaped cacti, vivid blueshades of the sea, pool and sky with mulicoloured design objects.

We designed the 'Disc and Sphere' collection in 2012. It was part of an exploration involving simple geometric shapes such as discs and spheres, and the interaction between glowing bodies, such as white globes, and reflective surfaces such as polished brass.

Sometimes I help my husband Kyriakos with the diagrams in his physics papers. Surprisingly, he cares that the diagrams look at least somewhat elegant, rather than a mess of various line weights, shapes and colors. Once I saw the Penrose diagram in one of the papers he was reading.
